About John Stenavage

Investor and entrepreneur in Providence, Rhode Island.

I build and hold businesses for the long term. My work runs across two companies: SMA Trading LLC, where I serve as Managing Member and lead multi-asset trading and portfolio management, and I & J Legacy Investments LLC, where I serve as Co-Founder and Managing Member and focus on acquiring and stewarding durable assets.

I hold a B.S. in Finance from Montclair State University. My approach is patient and ownership-minded. I’d rather buy something good and hold it well than trade in and out of it. That shows up across everything I do: small-business acquisition, multi-asset investing, real estate, and long-term capital stewardship.
